PEP Cereal Pinbacks.

Complete set of "92" Kellogs Pep Cereal Pinbacks 1945-47 with Variants.

Kellog's Pep was a brand of cereal produced by the Kellogg's Company in 1923. In the mid-1940s, Kellogg’s started placing promotional prizes into boxes of their cereal.  One of those prizes was a pinback button of a common newspaper comic character.   The comic character series consisted of five different series of comics characters. Each series consisted of 18 different buttons with the Superman button appearing in all 5 sets. This would make 90 buttons in the complete set, and 86 unique buttons. But wait, the attached collection shows 92 buttons and 88 unique ones? There are 2 with variations: Junior Tracy has white hair in one and yellow hair in another, Don Winslow has a yellow piece in his hat in one and a white piece in his hat in the other. With these 2 variations the "complete" set would include 92 pinbacks.
